Designing a GLP-1 Webinar Around One Practical Decision

An original webinar format that concentrates explanation and practice on one useful decision.

The practical question

A webinar can become difficult to use when it tries to answer every question about GLP-1 treatment in one sitting. CDC Clear Communication Index guidance supports defining the audience and the main communication purpose. An original educational design begins with one practical decision: what the participant should be able to understand or do after the session.

Choose a decision that fits the audience role. A clinician session might examine how to appraise applicability of a trial. A coordination session might practice routing a pharmacy clarification. A learner session might distinguish a study result from an implementation proposal. Define the case, the sources and the boundaries of the activity before creating slides.

Original implementation approach

Build the session in three movements: a concise explanation, an applied case and a debrief. During the explanation, introduce the information needed for the case. In the case, ask participants to produce a concrete deliverable such as a handoff message, a study matrix or a patient explanation. In the debrief, compare responses against the stated criteria and identify the reasoning behind each revision.

Provide a resource page with the primary source links, the session date and the practice task. If the event offers continuing education credit, the organizer must establish and verify the actual accreditation and requirements. Educational materials should accurately describe the event status. Participant feedback can guide the next session by identifying the decision that remains difficult and the type of practice that would help.

Applied learning exercise

Draft a webinar plan called “Clarifying a GLP-1 Pharmacy Question.” Write one learning objective, a fictional case and a five point assessment guide. Time the explanation, the individual task and the debrief. Ask a peer whether the materials allow a participant to complete the handoff using the supplied case details. Revise the case if needed. End by designing one feedback question that reveals the next skill participants want to practice, and use that answer to propose a follow up session.

Use in practice

The decision focused format is an original webinar design. Verify the event description, sources and any accreditation statement before promotion. Review participant deliverables to identify the skill that needs further practice. Use that finding to shape the next session and keep the educational sequence connected to actual learner needs.
